Our Solar System neighborhood

The Solar System is one planetary system within the much larger Milky Way galaxy. Planets orbit the Sun; many moons orbit planets, while those systems together travel around the Sun.

Screen diagrams usually exaggerate planet sizes and compress distances. A useful diagram should say what is and is not to scale. Orbit lines are drawn guides, not tracks or wires in space.
