A light-year measures distance
Light travels very fast, but space is enormous. A light-year is the distance light travels in one year.
When we look at a distant star, its light has taken time to reach us. We see it as it was when that light began its journey.
Wonder about this
Would you measure your age in light-years?
A science clue
No. Age is time; a light-year measures distance.
