Big discoveries have good sources.
Pip’s Starhaven is an independent educational project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by NASA or ESA. Pip and the adventure illustrations are part of Pip’s Starhaven.
Space learning
Lessons and prepared answers use short, child-friendly explanations with links to the scientific sources. The main references are NASA Science and NASA Space Place. External sites have their own policies.
Planet maps
Planet texture maps are from Solar System Scope, under CC BY 4.0. They are mapped onto simplified 3D worlds, with lighting, scale and orientation changed for this explorer. These are processed maps, not live photographs.
Moon maps and topography
NASA visualization resources provide the maps used for Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, Titan, Enceladus and Triton. The individual visualizations may include additional source credits; their color calibration and gap handling are not always documented. Labels in the explorer explain the limits.
Moon relief: NASA Scientific Visualization Studio / Ernie Wright, using LRO LOLA topography, Moon Kit. Heights are exaggerated for visibility.

Illustrations and models
The Mars rescue game, starfield, nebula lighting, ancient-Earth scenes, cutaways and diagram layouts are educational illustrations or models. They are not photographs, live positions or proof of discoveries. Sizes and distances are simplified where labelled.
Software notices
Third-party notices, including Three.js / OrbitControls MIT terms.
Asset register
File-level source and licence inventory. Unresolved provenance, rights and naming checks remain public-launch blockers. New question-lab diagrams and family activity text are original project code and copy; independent science review is pending.
Typefaces
DM Sans and Space Grotesk are served locally under the SIL Open Font License. DM Sans license · Space Grotesk license.
Using NASA resources
NASA’s educational-use guidance has conditions. Do not assume every image on a NASA page has the same rights: third-party material can require separate permission. NASA logos must not be used as Pip’s Starhaven branding. Read NASA’s media guidelines.
Source and license records still need an asset-by-asset review before public launch. If an attribution needs correction during this private pilot, contact the person who invited you.
